The country's attorney general wants acting prime minister Ariel Henry to answer questions about the president's assassination Jovenel Moïse this summer.
The chief prosecutor of Haiti ordered the Prime Minister on Tuesday by interim not to leave the country until he has answered questions about the month of July. assassination of President Jovenel Moïse .
Last week, the prosecutor issued a police summons for Prime Minister Ariel Henry , asking him to answer questions about his contact with one of the main suspects in the murder.
The recordingss phone calls show that Mr. Henry spoke with the suspect - Joseph Badio , a former intelligence officer - within hours of Mr. Moïse's death at his residence near Port-au-Prince , the capital.
It is not known what relationship, if any, Mr. Henry had with Mr. Badio, who has since been in hiding.
Mr. . Henry's spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In previous remarks to the media, Mr. Henry has denied any connection to the murder and the title said the brains of the rema ined plot in general .
The prosecutor's decision comes in the middle of a the escalation of the power struggle in Haiti following the murder of Mr. Moïse. Mr Henry, a neurosurgeon who was appointed Prime Minister by Mr Moïse just days before the murder, has struggled to assert his authority over the country since he was sworn in in July.
Haitian police have arrested several people in connection with the assassination, including 18 Colombians and several Haitian and Haitian Americans, and are still looking for more. Suspects include retired Colombian commandos , a former judge and two members of the President 's security team.
La police are investigating a complex plot which they say Christian Emmanuel Sanon , who was born in Haiti and lives in Florida. Authorities say he conspired to kill the president and seize power .
Many questions remain unanswered answer, in particular that none of the people named in the investigation seemed to have had the means to finance the plot.
