Frank Zumbo, longtime member of MP Craig Kelly, has been charged with 18 offenses, including seven counts of aggravated indecent assault linked to allegations made by three women and a teenage girl.
Police en New South Wales said Zumbo, 53, was arrested at Sutherland station police on Friday afternoon, following an investigation into historical offenses of sexual assault.
He faces 18 charges, including two counts of aggravated sexual touching with another person, seven counts of aggravated indecent assault where the victim was under the authority of the offender and nine counts of simple assault.
The investigation, which began in August last year, came following reports that a 16-year-old girl alleged that she had been assaulted by Zumbo.
"During the investigation, other women came forward claiming to have been assaulted by the same man "police said.
In a statement, NSW police said it would be alleged in front of thecourt that Zumbo "sexually touched and sexually assaulted three women " aged 23, 26 and 27, as well as the 16-year-old "on several occasions in the workplace between 2014 and 2020 ".
Zumbo, from Maroubra in southern Sydney, was bailed on Saturday after appearing in the local court in Parramatta.
The conditions of his surety include that he does not enter the grounds of any educational institution, including secondary schools or approach any prosecution witnesses, or approach any what an international starting point in Australia.
His next appearance will be on June 24, in the local court in Sutherland.
Police said on Saturday that investigations into Strikeforce Ornoco were continuing.
Kelly said he spoke to Zumbo.
"It indicatesthat he categorically denies all charges and will vigorously defend the case, "Kelly said in a statement.
