PowerPoint files are available in two formats: PPTX are editable PowerPoint presentations, and PPSX files are a read-only format for presentations. You can edit a PPSX file, but you need to convert it back to PPTX first.
Changing the file extension
Before you try anything else, it's always worth seeing if you can just change the file extension. file extension. This sometimes works, although it depends on the version of Office you and your colleagues are using.
To change the file extension, right-click on the file and choose "Rname ”.
Change the file extension (if it exists in filename) from .ppsx to .pptx.
Double-click on the file to open it normally in PowerPoint.

Saving file as PPTX
PowerPoint can convert PPSX file to PPTX file. Here's how to do it.
First, open "PowerPoint" and choose File> Open to find the file you want to edit.
Go to File> Save as to save the file.
From menu drop-down at the top right, choose "PowerPoint Presentation (* .pptx)" to save the file as an editable file that you can share with colleagues. Remember to click the "Save" button when you are done .
Now when coworkers click to open the file, they are taken to the PowerPoint editor for quick edits and reviews.
