What are nudges in Gmail?
Nudges are not new to Gmail. In fact, they came up with a bunch of features introduced in 2018 . But if you haven't explored what this feature does yet, here's a quick rundown.
With Nudges enabled, old emails you received will return to the top of your inbox. You might see a little tag with it reminding you that you might want reply to the email .

Nudges also work with emails you send but don't receive replies. This way, you might see the messages you sent appear at the top of your inbox. And this note can remind you to send a follow-up.
The feature is pretty nifty and can be useful if you forget to set a reminder yourself. But if you're doing your best to keep your inbox clean, or choose to track emails unassisted, you can turn Nudges off. You can do this on the web or on the mobile app.
Disable nudges in Gmail on the web
You can disable nudges in your Gmail on the web settings. So, go to Gmail and sign in if necessary.Click the cogwheel icon in the upper right corner and click "See all settings" in the Quick Settings sidebar.
Se Select the General tab and scroll down to the Nudges section. You can then deactivate the settings offunctionality. Uncheck the boxes next to "Suggest emails to reply to " (received emails) and "Suggest emails to follow " (sent emails) to turn off both types of reminders.
Unlike many other Gmail settings, you don't need to click "Save Changes" at the bottom. Instead, you should see a short message informing you that your preferences have been saved.

Disable nudges in Gmail mobile app
If you want to disable Nudges in Gmail mobile app, you cando it on your Android device, iPhone and iPad in the same way. So, open the Gmail app and follow these steps.
Tap the menu icon on the top left next to the search box. Choose "Settings " at the bottom. Then select the account whose parameters you want to modify, if you have more than one .
Scroll down the Nudges section and tap on "Replies & Following". Uncheck the Suggest emails to reply to and Suggest emails to follow buttons to disable both.
To turn off Nudges for another account, tap the top left arrow in.ur go back. Choose the following account and do the same.

While this is an interesting concept, Nudges in Gmail aren't for everyone. And if you want to give them another try, just follow the same process on the web or on your mobile device and re-enable those Nudges.
