How to update Plex on your Synology NAS

Don"t worry, however, there is always a way to do it. UPDATE: Synology has now added the ability to update Plex Media Server directly from the Paquets like any other package, but the method below still works if you want to push a manual update. You can define many Synology packages available from the Package Center in DiskStation Manager to update automatically
if desired. Otherwise, you are notified when packages are available for the update. The problem is that Plex Media Server is left out, which means that you have to update it manually. Here"s how. Start by launching the user interface of your Plex server, then click on the ">

If an update is available, it will show you just to the right of the version number. If there is an update, click on the link "please install manually " to get started.
A fi .SPK file starts downloading.
Once the download is complete, launch DiskStation Manager, then open the Package Center.
In the Package Center, click the "Manual installation " button.

And then click on the "Next " button to start the update.

Click "Apply " on the next screen.
Give it a few moments to install the update. When finished, the installation window will automatically close and you will be returned to your list of packages installed. There you will see that Plex is now running the latest version.
