Mercedes recalls its CLA and GLA models on steering shafts wobbly. Roadshow
Mercedes-Benz recalls 2017-2018 CLA and GLA fearing to lose direction, according to an NHTSA repository dated April 1 .
The issue affects 2017 CLA250 and 2017-2018 CLA45 AMG , GLA250 and Templates GLA45 AMG It is from an incorrectly sized steering shaft bore hole which may possibly allow the separation of the steering universal joint, which would make it impossible to steer the vehicle. There is no trace of collisions associated with the fault.

This problem only affects 4,992 vehicles. The fix is to replace the entire steering shaft and will be done (like all recalls) for free. Mercedes plans to start notifying owners of affected vehicles soon, with recall work scheduled to begin on May 31.
