OSLO, September 15 (Hfrance.fr) - Norwegian Equinor (EQNR.OL) expects the fundamentals behind the current high price of natural gas.urels in Europe remain in place for the next fall and winter seasons, CFO said Officer Ulrica Fearn said at an energy conference on Wednesday.
The price of natural gas has reached record highs in Europe, pushing up electricity prices as the winter heating season approaches with gas levels in storage below average.
"It is driven by weather anomalies, general inflation in commodity prices and bottlenecks in the supply chain 'supply ..., but primarily prices are determined by the basic fundamentals of tight supply and high demand, "Fearn said.
" The price signals clearly indicate that Europe needs our gas more than ever. "
Equinor, second furnacegas issuer in Europe after the Russian Gazprom (GAZP.MM) , was increasing gas production where it could, including at the giant Troll field in Norway, to meet demand, Fearn said.
"We are approaching the winter season with below average storage, so we see these fundamentals continuing into the fall and winter ", a-t -said. Written by Terje Solsvik, edited by Gwladys Fouche
