L ' University o f Miami fired first-year security Avantae Williams, out of football team Thursday after his arrest for domestic violence involving his ex-girlfriend pregnant.
Williams, 20, faces three counts of aggravated bodily harm to a pregnant person.
"The University of Miami announced Thursday that freshman security Avantae Williams has been excluded from the football program," the school said in a statement.

Maimi-Dade Police Department said the couple had been living together for four months in an apartment and moved argued over meeting another woman on Wednesday, target of the FOX subsidiary WSVN-TV reported. Authorities said the ex-girlfriend is pregnant withe 31 weeks old and that Williams is the father of the unborn child, WPLG-TV reported.
An arrest report says he seized her by the hair and threw her to the ground several times. She was taken to hospital and reportedly had bruises and broken fingernails.
Williams appeared in court on Thursday.
"Even though she calls you and wants to get together, you can't get near her," Mindy S. Glazer, Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge, told her. "If anyone sees you with her, you would be breaking the order to stay away and you could be arrested again. Okay, and you could face additional charges. are arrested again you will have to stay inside jail until your trial. "
He was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correc National Center and his deputyuis.
Williams, a top safety player, did not play for the Hurricanes last season due to medical issues. He was to play the coming season.
