Tribit's new StormBox Pro costs $ 120 but can be had for less expensive.
David Carnoy / Tribit has built a solid reputation over the past few years by offering some of the best affordable prices Bluetooth headphones and portable speakers in recent memory. A good example is the StormBox Micro , a budget for Bose's excellent SoundLink Micro . This is one of the best pocket speakers I have heard and retailed for 40 $ . Now, with its new StormBox Pro (120 $), Tribit starts at Bose's SoundLink Revolve Plus ( 250 $ ).
To celebrate the launch of the new speaker (and presumablyto entice some people to buy and review it on Amazon), Tribit is offering a special launch ch"deal for users of. If you apply the code SBPRO at checkout on Amazon , you get 35% off, which brings the price down to $ 78. The deal ends at midnight PST on April 24.
View Amazon I recently received my hands on a sample review and can tell you that it is a very solid bluetooth speaker that can play loud and has punchy bass for a speaker of its size. In fact, the speaker is equipped with a buttonBass amplification labeled XBass which indeed allows the speaker to produce more bass. Why you never turn it off, I don't know. But that's usually the case with speakers that have a bass boost button - they just don't sound as good without bass I don't know what the button is for except to market the built-in - speaker as having an additional bass mode.

Mimicry is the most sincere form of flattery? The StormBox Pro next to the Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus.
David Carnoy / While the StormBox Micro actually sounds quite close to the Bose SoundLink Micro I can't say that the Stormbox Pro sounds as good as the Bose SoundlLink Revolve Plus, which is due for an update this year. The Bose just sounds a bit fuller with a bit more detail and bass definition and better overall tonal balance. The Bose also has a more chic design although the StormBox Pro is fully waterproof and dustproof with an IPX67 rating and looks quite rugged. Its battery life is also very good (it is rated at 24 hours at 50% volume).
The Bose costs a lot more, especially after using the code SBPRO on the StormBox Pro at checkout (that's a little over three times the priceix). And if you're just looking for a mobile speaker that you plan to use outdoors a lot, you should be happy with the StormBox Pro. I like the target Anker Soundcore Motion Plus for around $ 100 (it sounds a bit better than this speaker), but the StormBox Pro has this grip Convenient transport integrated into its design.
