Age of Empires 4 has a big stress test this weekend , so anyone who wants to can jump in and play the target strategy game , preferably in multiplayer mode, because trying to break that - or rather , hopefully everything holds up - is kind of the point.
As you may know, the game should be out in a little over a month - October 28 - so now is the time to put the title to the test with some serious online testing it seems.
If you want to participate, go to the Age page of Empires4 on Steam where you can request access (register early) for the technical stress test which starts Friday September 17th ( 10 a.m. PT or 6 p.m. UK time) and ends Monday, September 20. You can also participate through the Xbox Insider Hub app.
You don't need to have already tested Age of Empires 4 to join in this stress test, the only requirement is that your PC must meet at least system requirements for the game as you would expect. When you run it, the game will automatically apply the correct graphics settings based on your hardware configuration (a function willity which is still in testing and which was not previously available with the beta version).
Obviously this is a limited version of the game that will be available this weekend, but there are a few variant modes that players can try out, with four different civilizations and five maps.
The tutorial is an obvious starting point ( "Mission Zero ") for newbies, and you will also be able to face off against the AI in custom skirmish matches. developer really wants you to do, however, is play against other people online, of course, and get as much data as possible from "different matches on different servers ". The developer adds : " We will mainly focus on stability, performance, and matchmaking or server reports during this event. "
Analysis: Ability to zoom in and other important changes based on feedback
By and large, fans who have already tested the game in the closed beta seem cautiously optimistic about to the changes that have been crazy e to Age of Empires 4 (which will be in place for this stress test open this weekend).
This includes a big adjustment, namely allowing the camera to do zooming out to a higher level so you can see more of the screen at one point, which was a problem for many players as it was too limited before.
This is the biggest change highlighted by developers, but anys kinds of bugfixes were applied - as you can save yourself - as well as the balance between Chinese and English civilizations (two of the civilizations playable in the stress test - the other two will be the Holy Roman Empire. Germanic and Abbasid Dynasty).
Overall, beta testers will hopefully be happy with the progress here, and they at least appreciate their feedback being taken into account. And I hope newcomers are impressed with the game as well - and the way it plays out in multiplayer matches, which is, of course, the real focus of this weekend's testing marathon. .
It should also be noted that the NDA is lifted with this test, in order to facilitate the inion and attract more people on board, so that you can talk about your experiences with Age of Empires 4.
