Alabama city councilor uses racist language at meeting to refer to coworker
A white Alabama city councilor called a black coworker "house n —- r " at a town hall meeting, causing hiccups from the public and calling for him to step down.
Tarrant City Councilor Tommy Bryant said used racial slurs at a council meeting on Monday while pointing to City Councilor Veronica Freeman, who then left the meeting visibly shaken.

Bryant claimed he was just repeating what Newman had previously called Freeman, a claim that the mayor denied, AL.com "reported .

The Alabama chapter of the NAACP is also calling on Bryant to resign, a AL.com reported.
Bryant insisted he was okay with using the term because Newton had previously used it "pejoratively " towards Freeman.
