LThe senior curator had recently returned from Portugal after supporting Chelsea in the Champions League Final. Instead of isolating himself for 10 days, Mr Gove will undergo daily Covid tests as part of 'a a pilot device designed to measure test efficiency. The exercise aims to find safe alternatives to self-isolation. The Cabinet Office has previously confirmed reports that Mr Gove had been alerted by the NHS Covid app. Portugal requests orange status as UK tightens rules The Champions League final moved to Porto A spokesperson for Mr Gove, who had visited Porto with his teenage son, said: It is in accordance with regulations and guidelines Covid-19 at all times and will continue to do so. As part of the pilot project, those contacted by Test and Trace are required to undergo lateral flow tests every morning for seven days. As long as they are negative, they will be able to leave their homes to perform essential activities . Downing Street is one of the workplaces participating in the program launched on May 9, 2021. After being briefed by Test and Trace on Thursday - four days after returning from Portugal - Mr Gove left a meeting he was attending with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak in Downing Street.
