Justice League # 53 kicks off the new big onestory arc and tie-in to the Death Nights: Death Metal "Doom Metal " event, which DC says will have a direct impact on the main series, and the publisher has released a preview of the issue on sale September 15th.
"Nightwing 'is on a mission to free the Legion of Doom from the clutches of Perpetua. But to do so, he will need the help of none other than ... Lex Luthor ?! "reads DC's official deion of the problem.
"The surprises are just beginning, as Nightwing, Lex and a new Judge League must fight their way to through an Earth twisted by the Dark Multiverse. Titans will be tested, hearts will be broken and blood will be spilled! "
Nightwing is restoring his memories and his identity to DC 's other concurrent event ' The Joker War. '
According to the publisher, and as noted in the preview pages, ' Doom Metal 'begins with Dick Grayson (in his original superhero identity , Robin) discovering for the first time a Justice League assembled, years before he became a Dick would become a member as a Nightwing.
The 'Doom Metal ' arc will also feature the first appearances of a Dark Multiverse Batman-Martian Manhunter Mindhunter mash-up, and Omega Knight - a "Frankenstein 's Monster version. Omega Titans "from 'Justice League: No Justice ', and what the publisher calls the " longtime reunion of Teen Titans: Nightwing, Cyborg, and Starfire, and more! "
