A dog was taken in a high-speed chase in Maine after only two flightsThe suspecteders got loose in a stolen pickup truck - while the dog remained inside - and walked away from the cops following them.
The incident happened around 5:50 pm. On Tuesday when Joseph Oldenburg, 25, allegedly jumped into the driver's seat of a Ford F-150 parked outside the Star City IGA, part of the small Presque Isle, Maine-based grocery chain. Macie Jones, 29, also from Caribou, jumped into the passenger seat before the duo fled, leading the police in a high-speed chase, WAGM " reported.
The vehicle was stolen with a Bernese mountain dog named "Finn" still inside, Presque Isle Police said.
The truck was later found abandoned on Short Street in Caribou, but the dog was not yet inside.

Authorities thought Oldenburg and Jones had fled on foot before the two of them. were then located elsewhere in Caribou and detained.
The Presque Isle Police Department said in an update Tuesday that the dog was also found unharmed. The police initially believed that the animal hadt was released in the Presque Isle, Caribou or Washburn area, but the department did not provide details on where the animal was ultimately located.
Oldenburg will be charged with felony with allusion, refusal to submit to arrest, reckless driving, theft through unauthorized use of property and cruelty to animals. The charges against Jones will include unauthorized use of property and breach of bail conditions. Both were incarcerated in the Aroostook County Jail.
