The Ancient Gods: Part One is the first of at least two upcoming campaign DLCs in Doom Eternal.
Bethesda has announced the Part one of the DLC when QuakeCon 2020 opens today.che has not been uploaded at the time of writing, but you can watch it at 1:05 p.m. in the video below. The full trailer will air on August 27 on Opening Night Live.
The ancient gods resume after the main story ends at a time when, due to the actions of the Slayer, the armies of heaven and hell are unbalanced. Demons flocked to reach the weakened Angelic Realm, so the Slayer was called in to clean up the mess. This is only the first part of the DLC, so it looks like the cleanup is going to take some time.
The teaser itself is very short, offering at most a glimpse of what looks like an angelic new foe or mini-boss, but executive producer Marty Stratton and game director Hugo Martin have offered more informationtions later.
"Hell has been torn, Heaven has been torn, and the legend of the Slayer has grown," says Martin. "Your rampage of destruction saved mankind from extinction, but it came at a cost. Now there is an imbalance of power in the heavens, and the true ruler of the Doom universe must be get up to put things back in order. It's all very cool, very cartoonish. "
" Cartoon "is a good word for setup, to say nothing of the teaser art. The Slayer may not be an out-of-court hero, but he has the superhero playbook: loud, silent, and perpetually restorative catastrophes caused by solving catastrophes. Either way, the old gods will give us more of Doom Eternal, and that's enough for us.
Doom Eternal will be a free update on PS5 and Xbox Series X .
