A mobile version of Fall Guys is coming, although you might have a hard time finding it outside of China.
The online game that combines battle royale multiplayer with wacky game show challenges has been a hit since il debuted on PC and PS4 earlier this month. Now games company Bilibili has secured the rights to bring Fall Guys to mobile devices in China. As of yet, there is no indication that the deal could also mean that Western audiences can look forward to playing Fall Guys on their phones.
Daniel Ahmad, an analyst specializing in the games industry in China and Asia, announced the news to the English-speaking public on his Twitter account this weekend.
This is Fall Guys 'first official announcement extending beyond its PS4 launch platforms, where it debuted as free PS Plus game and Steam. Developer Mediatonic indirectly addressed the potential of Fall Guys Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions, saying that 'he "would like to take the game to other decks further down the line ".
Fall Guys quickly became a global phenomenon, although console games are only a small part of the Chinese game industry. It makes sense for Fall Guys to debut on mobile for public Chinese - we'll have to wait and see if it makes a similar debut in the rest of the world.
Trying to navigate crowded swings on a virtual joystick seems like a special hell to me, but other than that, Fall Guys on mobile seems like a natural solution.
