The latest Xbox One system update brings your console closer to Microsoft's vision for a unified Xbox experience and closer to what the Xbox Series X in November.
The update for all Xbox One owners refreshes several areas of the console 's interface with a revised look and feel. The in-game guide is easier to read, with a layout that lets you switch between recent activity, the dashboard, and other games and apps. You can change the order of the Guide tabs, and there are new buttons at the bottom of the page to quickly view your notifications, adjust your audio settings, or handle other common tasks.
The notifications themselves have also been tweaked, combining all alerts, game invitations, and message notifications into a single inbox. You can thereaccess directly from the guide, but it will also integrate updates for all Xbox apps and automatically update their playing status across all platforms.
The Parties and Chat interfaces were combined in June, and further improvements now allow you to preview message text or individually adjust volume controls for each member of your party ( for that friend who does not take the microphone out of his mouth). The activity stream also received a new pass, with one size for all messages, less -text to distract media attention, and more shortcuts to automatically access people and related games. with each message.
