Police officer pleaded cutble to child sexual abuse offenses.
Lee Cunliffe, a Greater Manchester Police Detective Officer (GMP), admitted seven offenses, including organizing the commission of a closing child sex.
The 40-year-old man, suspended from his duties since his arrest in December, must be sentenced in January.
Judge Andrew Menary QC warned Cunliffe, from Hindley Green to Wigan he faces jail time.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Cunliffe, who was based in Salford, arranged to engage in sexual activity with a child in September of last year.
He also admitted to perverting the course of justice by making two entries on police reports to say nothing relevant was found on devices belonging to a suspect.
Cunliffe pleaded guilty to three counts of taking indecent photos of a child, involving 155 class A photos, 14 class B photos and 58 photosCategory C photos.
The officer also pleaded guilty to distributing indecent photos of a child and 'misconduct in public office, by failing to properly investigate a criminal case.

Cunliffe has pleaded not guilty possession of 227 indecent photos of children, attempting to provoke or incite the sexual exploitation of a child under 13 and misconduct in the exercise of a public service. on duty.
Prosecutor Arthur Gibson said the pleas were acceptable to the Crown and that he would ask for charges that were not kept on file.
Julian King, defending, requested an adjournment of the sentence so that a psychological report could be prepared.
He said the personal notes seized in the frame of the investigation showed the "turbulent interior "of the accused.
Judge Menary, Liverpool's Honorary Secretary, released Cunliffe on bail until his conviction on January 12.
