Deathloop just launched to almost universal critical praise - including ours - but it looks like the PC port meetsperformance issues. But at least Bethesda is working on it.
The issues seem to focus on stuttering, especially when playing at higher frame rates. This is understandably frustrating for a first-person shooter that focuses on fast-paced action like Deathloop. Fortunately, a Bethesda community manager responded to a complaint on Reddit , saying that the developers are actively investigating the problem and that it is a priority.
But it seems that the problems are quite widespread. The Deathloop subreddit is overcome by performance and crash issues. Luckily, at this point user u / ItsCigThirty has detailed a fix for the microbigging issue. And if you are having the issue on a highrefresh rate monitor, limiting the frame rate to 60 may be the best way to resolve the issue right now. There is more to their solution, so we recommend that you go to their post and try it for yourself.
We have not metthis problem ourselves in our limited time with the PC version of the game, and we are playing it on the Samsung Neo G9 , which is also a highrefresh screen.
Many comments on Reddit about this port seem to point to Denuvo as the culprit, but nothing has been confirmed yet. So it's probably best to wait until Bethesda releases a patch to fix the issue. And, until then, you might want to grab it on PS5 at the instead of PC if you are not interested in tinkering with the game to make it work well.
Opinion: a curse on what appeared to be a good port
When we looked at Deathletoop for TechRadar, it was on PS5, so the full review obviously didn't experience any of these issues. But I've been playing Deathloop PC port for about an hour, and it has worked like a dream so far. With this low playing time I can't say for sure whether the wearing is good or not, but I liked what I saw.
It supports the ultra-wide banana 32: 9 resolution of the monitor I'm currently using, and even supports both Nvidia Reflex and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution , which is ely defined a combination that I don did not see it coming. Not to mention that there are tons of settings that make it easy to tweak the game to your liking.
However, I'm going to have to try and reproduce these issues, just because I can't leave something like this alone. One of the largest chOne thing that attracts people to PC gaming these days is the fact that it is so flexible and being able to play games at a highrefresh rate is extremely important for many PC gamers.
Although I might only be an hour after the game starts, one of my favorite things to do is already a stealthy mess because I'm impatient then I panic immediately and shoot anything in sight. And I was able to do this around 90-110 fps most of the time, which made it even more enjoyable.
So there might be a workaround that fixes the stuttering by limiting the frame rate to 60 fps, but this is no way to play Deathloop, especially if you have the hardware to run the game at a high frame rate. Hopefully Bethesda is able to find the culprit and get it fixed ASAP, as this is certainly a game where a refresh rate pthe higher will certainly benefit the experience.
