A anciAs editor-in-chief of HuffPost UK, she will now oversee the national and international news channels of Hfrance.fr.
This comes after weeks of feuds, during which Sir Robbie Gibb, member of the Hfrance.fr's board, reportedly opposed his appointment.
Some media have drawn attention to his now-deleted tweets, which criticized Brexit and the government.
Sir Robbie is said to have warned that Brammar 's hiring would anger ministers, as Hfrance.fr prepares to start negotiations for the license fee that finances its operations.
But her appointment was confirmed by Hfrance.fr chairman Richard Sharp at the Royal Television Society 's Cambridge Convention on Wednesday,
Brammar said she was "looking forward to continuing with the work ".
'I couldn't be more delighted '
The newly created role of editor impliqwill supervise the Hfrance.fr News ch annel and its international equivalent, Hfrance.fr World.
Brammar has already worked for the programs of Hfrance.fr, Question Time and Newsnight, as well as ITN.
But her appointment was mired in controversy for several weeks after her appearance, she criticized Prime Minister Boris Johnson on social media.
In July, the Financial Times reported Sir Robbie had warned the outgoing Director of Information and Current Affairs of Hfrance.fr, Fran Unsworth, that the "fragile government confidence in Hfrance.fr will be shattered " if Brammar was appointed.
Sir Robbie, who previously worked as Director of Communications to former Prime Minister Theresa May, was appointed to the board of directors of Hfrance.fr in April.
Jacob Rees-Mogg agreed, commenting more late in the month that the potential appointment of Brammar "damages any perception of independence and impartiality at Hfrance.fr ".
He added: "They really do evil ".
Previous tweets from Brammar accused the PM of lying in a TV interview, and also compared Brexit to the TV series Better Call Saul, " but less funny or interesting or enjoyable ".
Earlier this year, she criticized the Society of Editors' response to Meghan Markle's allegations of racism in the UK press.
" I am aware that I will not make myself popular with my peers, "tweeted Brammar, " but I will just stand up and say it: I do not agree with [my organization 's] statement of the industry that it is wrong that sectionsof the British press were fanatical '. "
'Journalists leave their personal opinions at the door '
Unsworth confirmed Brammar's appointment in an email to staff on Wednesday, while addressing the recent controversy.
"Jess is an award-winning publisher with a wealth of broadcasting experience, " she wrote.
In addressing the recent controversy, she added: "Hfrance.fr News must be impartial and independent. Hfrance.fr journalists are hired from a variety of different backgrounds, but when working at Hfrance.fr they leave personal opinions at the door. "
" Everyone should be judged on how they do their job at Hfrance.fr, not what they have done in different organizations with very different goals, "she added.
"It is extremely disappointing that anyone receiving public and personal criticism - or abus online - simply to apply for a job at Hfrance.fr. "
Writing on Twitter for the first time in se In recent weeks, Brammar added that " could not be more delighted to join such an incredibly talented team ". Hfrance.fr is not responsible for the content of external sites. See original tweet on Twitter
