There are a lot of 'what ifs' in the MCU, but you rarely get a glimpse of what might have been.Thanks to Thor for the wave of Marvel concept artists who have shared some of their artwork. art used (and unused) in recent months, the lastst being a tweaked version of an iconic Spider-Man villain.
Ryan Meinerding, Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, took to Instagram to reveal the abandoned Vulture design, played by Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming .
The obvious change - and honestly, we almost prefer this design - are the fenders. Those who arrived in Homecoming had a much longer duration and were much more mixed up, alluding to Adrian Toomes' stampede as a tech scavenger.
The slimmer, streamlined look extends (literally) to the tail of the mechanism as well, with a pair of claw-like arms that would probably have been a bit more effective forcrush Spidey to one side in their decisive air battle.
Although Vulture may have been captured in Homecoming, he does his Marv return to Morbius in 2021 . Is he officially part of the MCU? It's a web we'll have to unravel next year.
Elsewhere, artist Andy Park also recently posted a preview of the conceptual design by Kate Bishop for the upcoming Hawkeye Disney Plus series. He and Mienerding also have several Marvel artwork on their Instagram account for those looking for more hidden MCU gems who often haven't made the jump to onscreen sketches.
