1. Empowering teams to succeed
I deeply believe in"servant leadership ". My role as CEO is to make sure my team has everything they need to be successful happy at work. I believe in getting out of the way and allowing my team to shine and create lasting and impactful work. My people are truly the magic behind the work. 2. Delegation of Responsibilities
As someone who has built a business from scratch, I think my most important responsibility as a business owner has been to fire myself from each poste. When I first created Klickly, I started doing everything myself, from marketing to product management! Even though it was necessary to get my business off the ground, I knew the ultimate goal was to replace me in every role with someone who was an expert in that particular area. 3. Identify and respect values
It takes years to build a good reputation and only a few minutes to ruin it, so as a leader, when Ifind myself in a difficult situation, I am always looking at our corporate values and if my decision making process is aligned with that. When we recruit new team members, candidates are eager to work for a team that aligns with their own personal values. Current team members want to see that our values are actually put into practice behind closed doors and in our interactions with clients. We are a criminal defense law firm and we use a holistic approach shaped by restorative justice. We believe that one bad act shouldn't define a person or their future. In every business, there is a personal story or context, just like how each product has a story behind it. As the leader and CEO of the company, I constantly share my story and connect with people who resonate with me. It is a consistent thing for me to do. I created this brand to share positivity alongside the products I have made to help others. My most important responsibility as a business owner and manager is to oversee all functions of the organization to ensure the smooth running of operations and finances, while ensuring that we meet all of our benchmarks. 7 . Being a good leader
My # 1 responsibility to grow a healthy business with a strong track record includes leadership. I define leadership as empowering people to work with me and not for me. The main responsibilities of a leader depend on the end goal of the business. For my business, I lead in five steps: 1. Manage and set goals based on the direction of an exit strategy; 2. Identify key indicators to support the exit strategy based on our industry; 3. Hire and fire on the basis of cultural suitability; 4. Codify the corporate culture by sendingan internal newsletter to highlight who is a model of our culture (and ask staff to refer to each other); 5. 8. Helping employees achieve their goals
Keeping your business on top of its goals is essential as a business leader. It is your responsibility to make sure that your team members have the tools and resources they need to be successful in their roles. 9. Ensure accountability within teams
My most important responsibility is to ensure accountability within my teams. As my business has grown, I have slipped into the role of helping to keep my teams accountable in any way I can. Whether it pushes us to meet our quarterly goals, to point out things that are holding us back from growing, or to ensure our team is properly supported, the responsibility to hold everyone accountable is something I continually work on.Of course, it's not 100% on me, but as my company founder and leader, if I'm not going to stay one step ahead, then who will?
