The PS5 cooling fan will receive online optimization updates which will adjust the fan speed according to the game you are playing.
The news, which comes from Eurogamer via the Japanese games site 4Gamer.net , is based on an interview with Yasuhiro Ootori, vice president of mechanical design at Sony. "Various games will be released in the future and data on the behavior of the APU in each game will be collected. We have a plan to optimize fan control based on this date," Ootori told 4Gamer. Simply put, this means data about games that cause heavy loads on La PS5 will be sent to Sony, and the internal fancannot be adjusted accordingly - even if it means your lounge is going to sound like the runways at JFK Airport.
