Sam & Max: This time it's virtual! is the next entry in the venerable series of comedic adventures, which has been dormant for ten long years. It is in development at HappyGiant, a studio that has so far beenspecializes in AR games, like HoloGrid: Monster Battle, inspired by Star Wars Holochess. As the subtitle suggests, however, this time the developer is dealing with virtual reality. The team that works on This Time It’s Virtual! includes several veterans of previous games in the Sam & Max series.
Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin has already proven that the tactile VR environment is ideal for LucasArts adventure. Except instead of point and click, in Sam & Max you're going to pick up and throw. No matter how deep your journey through the Oculus Store, it's unlikely you've ever thrown a hyperkinetic bunny thing at a dart board before. Or shoot cockroaches in the broom cupboard with a gun.
