A former student at Gordonstoun boarding school said children regularly protest racist and sexist behavior.
Describing the "cruel " behavior of some boys at school, she said she remembered they were going on a "hunt for Jews ".
She also said that two African girls in her house reportedly described the racism they faced as "unlivable".
The woman, called Jane to protect her anonymity, attended Moray School and its Aberlour House Preparatory School from 1979.
Jane told the Scottish Child Has drunkInquiry, led by Lady Smith, that teachers at both schools showed a lack of limits and that students were often self-sufficient thanks to the "houses " accommodation system.
She said it put her in danger and she tried to be kicked out of Gordonstoun, but to no avail.
The Aberlour students have always been admitted to Gordonstoun despite failing the common entrance exam, she said.
Jane said muchHousing at Gordonstoun Estate, which contains a large 17th-century country house, was decrepit.

Gordon's childrenstoun were "wild," she said, recalling an incident where a boy was shot six times with an air rifle.
However, she said the only one offense which would result in expulsion was having sex with another student, and speaking out was a "cardinal sin ".
Jane said the daughters of Africa who stayed in her house were left "very, very isolated ".
She added: "I am very sad that I didn 't do anything about it. They would certainly say that racism was unlivable.
Andrew Brown QC, the investigating lawyer, asked him if misogyny was prevalent at school.
Jane a agreed and said: "A lot of girls were dating much older boys to have protection.
When she finally left school, said: "I was felt ruined ".

Earlier Wednesday, he learned that a former teacher who was convicted of obscene acts involving three boys during swimming sessions in Gordonstoun also had indecent images boys on his computer.
Andrew Keir, 71, was called as a witness in the investigation.
In 2018, he was jailed for a year for kidnapping his trunks and exposed himself. He was also found guilty of indecent assault and breach of the peace.
Investigation was informed that along with indecent images of boys, police found on his computer fictional stories depicting sex acts in a school.
Despite this, the former physics teacher continues to deny abusing boys at school.
He has says: "It is a fact that I was convicted, it is also a fact that I believe I am not guilty.
Tuesday, a former student from school said thatKeir groped him while he was playing a computer game.
He said the abuse he suffered at Gordonstoun affected the rest of his life.
Gordonstoun has apologized to anyone who suffered abuse in his custody. The investigation continues.
