The Black Ops Cold War release date has been revealed on November 13 and will beoriginally launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This year's Call of Duty is also coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X , although we don't know not officially when. However, the timing of this Black Ops Cold War release date is quite intriguing considering the current rumors regarding the final arrival of the two consoles.
With the exception of delays, this means Black Ops Cold War will arrive the week before games such as Assassin 's Creed: Valhalla , Cyberpunk 2077 and the Fortnite Last Laugh bundle which specifically mentions being available on time for next-gen consoles. Since the Black Ops Cold War reveals the trailer and gameplay recently shown to the press was specifically named as `` captured on PS5 '', this first half of November looks increasingly likely as a launch date.
(Image credit: Activision) La The game's latest campaign, developed by Raven, sees a return for Mason, Woods and Hudson in a direct 1981 sequel to the first game, so Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 (set in the late 80s and 2065 respectively) do have not yet happened. As a continuation of Modern Warfare, however, it makes sense to stick with a more realistic, grounded campaign - no one is ready to go back to the robot-knee wall just yet.
Of course, with Warzone still one of the greatest games in the world, the dBlack Ops Cold War's release date isn't just about a new opus. There have been bunkers filled with Soviet codes, equipment, and nuclear weapons that suggest the Cold War will somehow affect the battle royale. However, the multiplayer side of things, overseen by Black Ops creator Treyarch, is currently still under wraps. So we'll have to wait and see what effect Black Ops Cold War might have on Warzone and Verdansk in general.
