Three years after L 'The Lord of the Rings TV show has been announced, we finally have an official synopsis for the Amazon Prime series.mentions some key locations in Middle-earth that will appear in the series, including the Misty Mountains, the elven capital of Lindon, and the island kingdom of Numenor.
The series will be set in the legendary Second Age in Middle-earth history, thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien's books. As indicated by TheOneRing.net , says Amazon Studios it" will take viewers back to a time when great powers were forged, realms came to glory and fell to ruin, heroes improbable have been tested, hope hangs over the finest of threads and the greatest villain to ever cast from Tolkien's quill has threatened to cover everyone in darkness. "
Amazon has also confirmed that the series will begin in a time of relative peace and follow a set of characters, both familiar (some of the inhabitants of Middle-earth have a very different lifespan than humans, after all) and new, as they face the much-dreaded re-emergence of evil to their world.
Who these familiar faces are has yet to be announced, but Morfydd Clark is reportedly back as Galadriel and Elrond are set to play a part in the story as well. Played by Hugo Weaving in the movies, no word has been chosen to play him in the series.
