ToddHoward from Bethesda gave some comments on what he would like to see from the next gen console when it comes to creating a world.
"I would like to see more responsiveness [in game worlds], more clashing systems that players can express themselves with, " Howard told The Guardian in a recent interview. "I think looking for scale for the sake of scale isn't always the best goal . "
This is an interesting view from Howard, with two open world titles in development at Bethesda Game Studios. The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield are self-proclaimed open world games, both set to release at some point probably on the current console generation. If we take Howard's comments at face value, then perhaps we shouldn't expect either game to present an absolutely gargantuan card.
Elsewhere in the interview with The Guardian, Howard talks about what he wants from the next generation of consoles. "For me, it's more about access than clock cycles. The time it takes to turn on [a console] and load some of these games is a hindrance - it's about time that you don 't enjoy being in this world, "says the veteran developer. "The types of games we make are games that people will sit down and play for hours at a time.If you can access a game more easily, no matter what device you're on or where you are, that's what I'm losing k the next five to 10 years in the game are pretty much. "
These are exciting times for games related to Bethesda. After being purchased by Microsoft as part of a successful acquisition earlier this year, there is quite a bit of uncertainty about Bethesda titles, like Starfield, coming to the PlayStation family Xbox boss Phil Spencer has assured consumers that Bethesda will run " semi-independently "from Microsoft after the acquisition next year, however.
In the news that will certainly impact both The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield, Bethesda is in processn of redesign its game engine for this last title . In addition, Starfield offers an entirely new animation system for its characters , and you can expect Starfield's improved engine and animation system to have an impact on The Elder Scrolls 6, which is set to launch at some point after the space RPG.
