Doom Eternal's next DLC, The Ancient Gods: Part One, will be available for purchase as a standalone game.
This meansthat fans interested in the new adventure but don't have the basic game - or maybe you have it but haven't completed the main campaign yet - will be able to participate in the action when it is released October 20, 2020.
"When we look at the number of people who have played the game, we have a large percentage - higher than 2016 - who have done, so you still look at that and see how far players get through your game., "Doom Eternal executive producer Marty Stratton explained to PCGamesN " .
" This is important because we want the DLC to reach as many people as possible. In fact, you don 't even needto own Doom Eternal to purchase and play the DLC. "
The Ancient Gods: Part One is the first of at least two upcoming campaign DLCs in Doom Eternal, which was announced at QuakeCon 2020 a few weeks ago .
The Ancient Gods resumes after the End of the main story at a time when, due to the actions of the Slayer, the armies of Heaven and Hell are out of balance. Demons have flocked to reach the weakened Angelic Realm, so the Slayer has been called out for clean up the mess. This is only part one of the DLC, so it looks like the cleanup is going to take a while.
Doom Eternal will be a free update on PS5 and Xbox Series X .
