By September, it will be possible to borrow a Cityscoot for two thanks to a second helmet located in a trunk in the back. The service does not want to be fooled by its new competitors.
In an email sent to its Regular users, Cityscoot announces that it is in the process of adding to some of its self-service scooters a "top case" box in which will be a second helmet (the first is under the saddle).
This new feature, annoBorn 10 days ago on Cityscoot's Twitter account without being mentioned in the press, the regulars of the service should be delighted. It must be said that faced with its new competitors (Lime, Yego, Cooltra), all freshly landed in Paris, Cityscoot risked quickly suffering from its limitation to a single helmet.
In Paris, the trend for self-service scooters
Available in two French cities (Paris and Nice), Cityscoot tells us that only the Paris region will benefit from these second helmets initially, but Nice will be served soon.
The company promises that 50% of its Ile-de-France fleet will be equipped with this novelty by September. The service specifies that the rental price will remain the same for two and that the comprehensive insurance will be extended free of charge to the second passenger.

In the space of a few weeks, the streets of Paris were quickly invaded by scooters competing with the Cityscoot blue gear. Alone on the Ile-de-France market since Coup's departure in 2019, Cityscoot must now compete with new companies including the powerful Lime, already popular thanks to its scooters and bikes.
All of Cityscoot's rivals offer two helmets, which may have converted some users. Even if, in the example of Lime, we noticed a lot of theft of helmets due to a bad locking system.
In its email, Cityscoot also indicates good news for its users and a worse one for taxis: electric scooters can now be used on rue de Rivoli, on the bus lane.
Regardingerne Nice, the lack of competition for the moment leaves it undoubtedly still some time to update its scooters.
