Launched in June 2019 in around 200 cities around the world, Google's forecasting service will be deployed in a hundred countries.
With the end of the confinement and the return of people in public transport, it is practical to know if a bus, train or metro might be crowded before attempting to take it. This function is available in Google Maps and will be extended to more than 10,000 transport services, in around 100 countries.
Google uses a prediction system for this thanks to artificial intelligence and contributions from users of its Maps app. In the example below, a user sees the occupancy rate of his bus and can also give his opinion.
The editor has also set up a test in New York and Sidney which allows, for example, to know in real time if a train is full or not by pushing the precision to the level of each car in the train. For this, it uses data communicated by transport companies.
For Android users who have activated their location, Google offers an onglet in its app which provides information on travel habits, means used and distances traveled.

It is also possible to find information on movements carried out, with for example the references of the hotels in which we have stayed during trips, or the restaurants in which we have eaten. Finally, Android users in the United States will be able to provide more details when rating a restaurant.
