Driving Revelationsfrom General Mark Milley, president of the Joint Chiefs of Staff , contained in a new book are more than alarming. If they are correct, they constitute court martial offenses. If proven at trial, they deserve a conviction and jail time.
In a new book called "Peril ", Washington Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward and National Political Journalist Robert Costa detail the conversations that took place Milley had with tops Pentagon officials, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and a senior Chinese military general towards the end of Trump's presidency.
According to the book, Milley usurped the president's authority as the elected civilian leader of the United States, sought to ddefy any order with which he did not agree and inserted himself into a chain of command where he did not belong in order to arrogate to himself the power over the nation's military operations and nuclear codes . But that's not all.
The authors claim that Milley secretly informed China that he would warn them in advance of any attack by US military forces. Pentagon sources admitted that Milley had called out the Chinese, as Fox News reported. But they insist the general assured China there will be no surprise attacks. This is a distinction with very little difference.

Joint Chiefs of Staff, awaiting further investigation. If there is credible evidence to support the allegations against him, he must face a court martial in a military tribunal to answer for his perfidy.
Authority of usurpation
Two days after the terrorist attack of January 6, 2021 against the Capitol, Milley spoke by phone with House Speaker Pelosi. In a tranion of the appeal obtained by the perpetrators, Pelosi demanded that the general wrest control of nuclear codes from Trump andn instituting precautions and otherwise preventing it from taking any adverse military action. Milley offered her resolute assurances to the speaker.
Shortly after, Milley called a secret meeting with senior Pentagon officials, including the country's nuclear arsenal chain of command. Claiming unlimited power he did not have, the general ordered them that no one should act on military strike orders - even from President Trump - unless he, Milley, was personally involved and approved. He insisted that everyone in the room verbally commit to effectively placing him in charge.
As chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Milley is only an adviser to the chairman. That's all. His post is not part of the chain of command overseeing the codes that control US nuclear weapons. Indeed, the law prohibits him from beforeHave any operational command authority over the US armed forces. As such, his actions as described in the book were both disloyal and lawless.

Aiding the Enemy
After ordering Pentagon officials to bypass President Trump and not undertake any military incursions without first obtaining his assent, Milley phoned his counterpart in China. Keep in mind that there is no evidence that Trump ever considered such an attack, and he said so.
