Torrentz2 users had to note : The popular torrent search engine is no longer accessible through its main domain name in .eu . Torrentz2 is indeed under investigation triggered by a prosecutor's order.
And while awaiting the outcome of the investigation, the EURid has decided to suspend its domain name. However, the alternate domain in .is remains accessible.

Torrentz2 struggling with copyright holders
Torrentz2 has millions of visitors per day, making it one of the search engines most used torrents on the Internet. Torrentz2 was born from the ashes of the original site Torrentz , which was forced to close its doors during the summer of 2016 and which of course found the way to continue its activities as usual.
It must be said that the platform has always been grappling with copyright holders who have managed to block it in several countries around the world. The Torrentz2.eu domain had so far remained operational in some parts of the world before it too has been blocked recently. Indeed, Torrentz2.eu has been inaccessible for a few days. The home page of the site now displays an error message informing users that the site is not accessible.
In fact, the EURid registry placed the domain in “ serverhold , which means it is suspended and under investigation. No additional information has yet been provided by EURid.

A new charge of copyright infringement
As you might expect, Torrentz2 is once again charged with copyright infringement. Indeed, a spokesperson for the site said that the blockage was the result of an order from aprosecutor.
"Torrentz2.eu has been suspended by order of the public prosecutor," explains the operator of the site. And to add that the backup domain, Torrentz2.is , remains functional. No details on the jurisdiction or the country of origin of the order were however given.
This is not the first time that the EURid registry has taken action against torrent sites, including the original Torrentz.eu . But these areas had always remained operational. Not this time, obviously.
