An elder St. Louis policeman was sentenced to one year and a day in prison on Monday for his involvement in the bludgeoning undercover cop during a violent protest in 2017 and for trying to cover it up, authorities said.

Prosecutors requested a 10-year sentence for Boone in connection with the September 17, 2017 beating.

Officer Randy Hays was sentenced in July to over four years in prison after pleading guilty in 2019 to using force unreasonable and excessive when beating. Bailey Colletta received probation for lying to the FBI and a grand jury about the beating.
