The San Dieguito Union School District in North County San Diego would be the first in the county to ban this controversial teaching practice, The Times of San Diego reported.
The school board will consider proposed wording that says "Instruction must not not teach or include critical race theory as part of the curriculum, instruction, or teaching materials "at its virtual meeting Thursday.
Other San Diego school districts and the country are considering a ban on education, which has become a political hotspot.
Critical race theory is emergingfocuses on the impact of power structures and institutions on racial minorities, but critics say it can make white men appear oppressors and women and minorities feel like helpless victims.
