Credits: Warner Bros HBO Max will be the favorite destination for DC comics fans. Like Disney + with Marvel, the platform plans to drastically expand its offering with paper superheroes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new project centered around John Constantine is reportedly in development at Warner and HBO . Although very little is known about this new series yet, the American media announces that production will be handled by JJ Abrams, the director of Star Wars: The Awakening of the Force. As for the casting, we will probably have to wait a little longer since HBO does not seem to have found the interpreter of the detective yet. As a reminder, he was played by Keanu Reeves in the 2005 film and Matt Ryan for the NBC television series.
An opening for Justice League Dark?
Appeared for the first time in the comics Swamp Thing, in 1985, the character of John Constantine was created by Alan Moore. He has since appeared in several works, including his solo adventures: HellBlazer. But in recent years, he's become the main character in Justice League Dark, a comic book series in which Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, The Changing Man, and Zatana take care of matters too occult for The Justice League of Superman. Offering a series to the character of Constantine is probably not trivial for HBO, which could eventually offer a series on the Justice League Dark. We rejointera that this meeting could also finally be brought to the screen. After all, DC seems to want to adopt the same strategy as Disney when it comes to content. The series and films of the franchise will be directly connected, like Gotham City PD which will be inspired by Matt Reeves' Batman .
