Huawei had promised an announcement for February 22 and the company has obviously not lied . It has indeed just lifted the veil on the Huawei Mate X2 , its brand new folding smartphone. A smartphone that does not look like the first model and that even reveals itself through a first unboxing.
Huawei was among the first manufacturers to present a fully functional folding smartphone, alongside Royole and Samsung .
The Huawei Mate X2 is official The Huawei Mate X, if you remember, was actually quite different from its competition. The screen of the phone was indeed placed on the outside of its chassis and so it extended from the front to the back.

For this new iteration, the manufacturer has completely revised its copy.
The Huawei Mate X2 therefore does not look like its predecessor and it ultimately comes closer to the format of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2.
The terminal therefore has two screens on board. . The first, placed on the outside of the phone, reaches 6.45 inches. It is an OLED panel capable of displaying a resolution of 2700 x 1160, and therefore a resolution going beyond Full HD.

Interestingly, the manufacturer has swapped steel for a carbon fiber frame in order to make the device as light as possible .
Unsurprisingly, the Huawei Mate X2 is powered by a Kirin 9000 and therefore by the very latest in-house chip. A chip introduced by the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, the test of which you can find right here . It is supported by 8 GB of RAM. Storage will depend on the model chosen and it will be between 256 and 512 GB.
As for the battery, it will reach 4,400 mAh of capacity and it will support a maximum power of 55W.
And the photo, then? Huawei has not skimped on this aspect of things. The main sensor reaches a definition of 50 mpx and it will be able to count on a second sensor of 12 mpx associated with a 3x optical zoom and on a sensor 8 mpx with 10x optical zoom.
The front camera will reach 16 mpx and the phone will come in four colors: black, white, blue or pink.
The price, in On the other hand, is high. Expected in China for February 25, the Huawei Mate X2 will be offered at 17,999 yuan for its 256 GB version and 18,999 yuan for its 512 GB version. That is a price between 2,292 and 2,420 € without take into account the taxesliquant in each country.
For the moment, it is not known whether Huawei plans to launch its phone internationally.
