Fifteen players have the chance to win both the Champions League and the European Championship this summer. Chelsea, along with Champions League finalist Manchester City, have 15 players at Euro 2020, more than any other team.
Bayern Munich have 14 representatives, Juventus twelve and Manchester United and Dynamo Kiev eleven. All but one of Kiev's players represent Ukraine, whose squad also includes seven players from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Chelsea's 15 players include three each from England, France and Germany, while City's squad has four England players, four from England. 'Spain and three from Portugal. They are among 118 players from Premier League clubs who will take part in Euro 2022 - more than Serie A and La Liga combined.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur can nominate eight players to the Euro, while Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City have seven each. In perhaps a sign of their recent struggles, Arsenal only have four players at the tournament.
The dominance of English clubs in the European Championship squad lists is such that every team, with the exception of Russia, has a player plying their trade in England.
But the English club's domination of football goes beyond the Premier League.
The championship, England 's second pision, has 32 players in the tournament. this is more than League 1.
The majority of them are from the British Isles, with 14 players for Wales (including four from Cardiff City and two from Swansea City) and four for Scotland. But even if Wales and Scotland did not qualify, there would still be 14 league players at the tournament, from Bristol City's Hungarian midfielder Adam Nagy to Croatian Luton Town goalkeeper Simon Sluga.
It's quite an achievement when only eight Euro 2020 players come from Portuguese clubs and ten from Belgium.
Championship-promoted teams Brentford and Norwich City both have four Euro players, as many as Lyon and AC Milan. The three Luton Town players are as much as Marseille.
Brexit and associated rule changes will make it more difficult to recruit players from smaller European countries in the future, and Euro 2020 could represent a highlight in the representation of the league at the 'a major tournament. But at the same time, many of the international players in question, like Norwich City star striker Teemu Pukki, who was signed from Brondby, would likely qualify through international appearances. Others, like Danish midfielder Brentford Mathias Jensen, have been drafted into Liga, Ligue 1 or Serie A teams.
Fourteen league clubs, from Bournemouth to Barnsley, are represented at the tournament. On top of that, Wales midfielder Matthew Smith played on loan for Doncaster Rovers in England's third tier last season, and Finland's Anssi Jaaloka plays for Bristol Rovers in English football's fourth tier.
While England's lower leagues have 34 players at Euro 2020, only 42 La Liga players will be at the tournament. Much has been said about how Spain named a team with just three Barcelona players and no Real Madrid players, a long cry from their 2010 World Cup winning team which had five Real Madrid players and seven Barcelona players. But Real Madrid are not represented in the other teams either. Only six of their players, including Frenchman Karim Benzema, participate in the Euro2020.
Ten players will have to travel to Europe for the tournament, including six from North America, three from China and Belgium's Thomas Vermaelen from Vissel Kobe in Japan.
With the European Championships being a chance for players to showcase themselves before a summer move, it may be that by the start of next season, teams like Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan and Real Madrid have several other players who have participated in Euro 2020.
