Table tennis is played while standing on a table. The referee or scorer hides the ball in one hand under the table and lets the players guess which hand the ball is in. The winner decides if they want to serve or which side of the table they want to stand on. Normally in singles, the first serve is decided by throwing a coin.
There is another method called serve to play , where the player plays the ball back and forth three times and then plays for the point.
