It was on the occasion of its usual meeting in September that Apple formalized its new generation of smartphones composed of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro (with the large version format, the 11 Pro Max). If the two smartphones are decidedly high-end, they are not intended for exactly the same user profiles. Below, we have made a comparisonif between iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro , with their common points and their specific differences.

The first difference in this comparison between iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro - and it's not the least important - is that the iPhone It is only equipped with an LCD screen - unlike the iPhone 11 Pro which comes with an OLED screen much more efficient (in terms of resolution, contrast and even brightness). At the moment, it's almost surprising to see Apple equipping its smartphones with an IPS LCD screen, a technology that is getting a little aging.
It must be recognized, however, that this allows to significantly reduce the price of the iPhone 11 - and obviously, it remains a very high-end product that we learnwill necessarily laugh. There are rumors that the iPhone 11 may be the latest phone from the manufacturer to come with an LCD screen - after which OLED will become the norm. Similarly, Apple has chosen to keep a notch on all of its new models at the front (to hide the photo sensor in particular).
Among the other differences easily visible between the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, we can cite the colors . The iPhone 11 Pro retains the brand's historic and premium colors - silver, space gray and gold - while adding a “night green” version for this 2019 edition. For its part, the classic iPhone 11 is much more colorful since it comes in black, white, yellow, red, green and purple.

Note that the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the largest format with a 6.5-inch diagonal screen. Without going into the comparison between the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the second stands out on the size, the batterie but also the price.
Among the similarities that we can mention in this comparison between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro, and which distinguish these new phones from the previous generation, we can cite for example the logo on the back which is now centered in the middle of all models . We also note the new square space in the upper left corner at the back which delimits the different photo sensors on each of the devices in question.
A13 Bionic, a chip common to all
In recent years, Apple has grown accustomed to introducing new chips that improve the overall performance of its iPhones (both CPU and GPU). If the A12 Bionic chip which equips the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max is still considered by all experts to be one of the best on the market, the new A13 Bionic chip which equips the iPhone 11 , 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max is a step up.
Puce A13 Bionic © Apple Without going into details, it is important to underline in this comparison between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro that both products areequipped with this latest high-end chip. In other words, it is possible to benefit from one of the most powerful smartphones on the market without having to pay more than € 1,000 for this product.
This is also this A13 chip Bionic which offers such powerful photo sensors and an image processing system using artificial intelligence. As you can see in the section below of this comparison between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro, the photo is at the heart of the strategy of the American electronic group, and the efforts made in this niche allow Apple to to rise to the competition. Note that all these new smartphones run on iOS 13.
Double sensor for the iPhone 11, triple for the 11 Pro
Another important difference between iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro resides in the photo offer. If the iPhone 11 now has 2 photo sensors on the back of the device (against only one for the iPhone XR), it is still below the iPhone 11 Pro which is accompanied by a triple photo sensor on the back . It is therefore also a small difference in aesthetics which makes it easy to distinguish these two models.
Photo offer of iPhone 11:
- Wide-angle sensor (f / 1.8)
- Ultra-wide-angle sensor (f / 2.4)
Photo offer for the iPhone 11 Pro:
- Wide-angle sensor (f / 1.8)
- Telephoto sensor (f / 2.0)
- Ultra wide angle sensor (f / 2.4)
The main and big difference in the photo offer between the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro is that the latter is equipped with a telephoto sensor (f / 2, 0) . We will note other different that will be important for photography enthusiasts: the iPhone 11 Pro has a double optical stabilization (against a simple one on the iPhone 11), an optical zoom at the front x2 (none on the iPhone 11) as well as a digital zoom that increases to x10 (against a x5 zoom on the iPhone 11).

Apple took advantage of the conference to unveil new features such as the appearance of a new powerful night mode, or more options in portrait mode. Both devices support 4K, and the photo sensor ultra wide-angle can be used for photos as well as videos.
Battery life on the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro?
Battery life of iPhone 11 Pro © Apple / Presse-citron.net The American firm gives however some precious information in the technical characteristics of each iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11Pro Max which are published on its official website. This concerns different types of use such as video playback, video streaming or audio playback. Overall, the iPhone 11 Pro has more battery power than the iPhone 11 - but the difference is not that great. On the other hand, the iPhone 11 Pro Max benefits from a greater autonomy at all levels .
- Video playback: 5 p.m. for iPhone 11, 6 p.m. for 11 Pro, 8 p.m. for 11 Pro Max
- Video streaming: 10h for the iPhone 11, 11h for the 11 Pro, 12h for the 11 Pro Max
- Audio playback: 65h for the iPhone 11, 65h for the 11 Pro, 80h for the 11 Pro Max
This year, Apple has decided (finally) to make an effort on the chargerss included in the box at the time of purchase. Indeed, the new iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max now come with an 18W charger , which allows you to recharge up to 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes. However, we can regret that it has not made this effort for the iPhone 11, which always comes with a 5W charger. An 18W charger by Apple independently costs 35 € each.
If both phones in our comparison iPhone 11 vs 11 Pro are equipped with wireless charging (you will have to buy an additional charge wireless support), we can regret that none is capable of offering a reverse charging system. While rumors announced such a feature for this new generation of iPhone 11, Apple would have finally abandoned the idea - for lack of satisfaction. We cannot therefore charge other devices by bringing them closer to an iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro, as is the case with certain competitors (Samsung, Huawei, OnePlus).

Before To enter the price comparison of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, we must first look at the different storage formats that are available. In this case, the iPhone 11 is available in a 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB version. As for the famous iPhone 11Pro, it comes with 64 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. It must be said that the latter is still much more successful for photos, and that a larger storage space is therefore welcome.
