Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, yesterday rejected two Minority Leaders Kevin McCarthy's Nominations for House Select Committee tasked with investigating the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol.

Pelosi, however, said that someone who voted on January 6 did not prevent him from sitting on the committee, and did not objectionthe nomination of Troy Nehls, who also voted in favor. She rejected their nomination because of their comments denigrating the investigation and their ties to Donald Trump, she said.
The Republican MP Liz Cheney, who was previously named to Pelosi's panel , called McCarthy's actions "despicable and shameful." "Each time, the minority leader tried to make people not know what happened [on January 6]," she said.
