Weightlifting - Equipment
A variety of equipment is used during the game. Details of each equipment are given below.
A bar is a long rod with weights attached to its ends. The dumbbells used in weightlifting are certified by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). It consists of three basic parts -
- The bar
- The disks
- The necklaces
The bar of the bar is made of steel with rotating sleeves of larger diameter at both ends. sleeve minimizes the rotational inertia of the plates to a high level, thus decreasing any risk of injury. According to the standards set by the IFW, the bar for men weighs 20 kg. It has a length of 2.2 meters and a tree diameter 28 mm. The ladies bar weighs 15 kg. It is 2.01 meters long and has a diameter of25 mm shaft e. The bar also features a grip texture called knurling , which finds a central position at the men's bar and is absent from the women's bar.
Discs, also known as bumper plates, have a rubber design to make it easier to drop the bar from different heights after each lift. The following disc weights ranging from 0.5kg to 25kg with designated colors are used in weightlifting as specified by the IWF.

All the discs must have their respective weight mentioned above and the diameter of the largest disc should 450 mm with a tolerance of + - 1 mm.
Two necklaces of 2.5 kg each is used to secure the disks to the bar so that they do not give way.
Chalk is used by participants present and above the collarbone to ease dryness and to prevent bar movement.
In addition to information on lifting equipment Equipment is also used to check the time taken by the player to lift the weight and to calculate the score.
Electronic lighting system for arbitrators
The control box has three arbiters. The system is equipped with two bred and white push buttons and a signaling device. It is a device at a height of 0.5 meters from the platform which is held in front of the participant and which serves to give an audible and visual DOWN .
Scales - Scales with an accuracy of 10 grams and a measuring capacity of 200 kg are provided at the weightlifting arena.
Timing - Stopwatches capable of running continuously for 15 minutes are used. It must be countdown type and must be at least 1 second. The electronic clock must have an automatic audible signal within 90 seconds and 30 seconds of the time allotted to the athlete.
Table of attempts - A table of attempts has the name of the competitor, his / her IWF / IOC country code, his / her attempt number, his / her start number and the weight to collect.
